The Thorn Hill Country Dancers meet first and third Fridays monthly, September through May. The Thorn Hill Folk Dance Band meets first and third Thursdays monthly, September through May, and plays for the dances on every third Friday. Dances feature a balanced mix of contras, English, traditional squares, and Appalachian big sets, for which the Dance Band provides traditional reels, jigs, English, breakdowns, and waltzes. The dancers also use recorded music for some International, novelty, and no-partner dances. Dances, open to all, are usually attended by couples, singles, adults, kids, and grandparents. The band, also intergenerational (ages 6 through 70s), is fast growing into a dance orchestra. We have several callers and are growing more. You are invited to join us.
